ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
Senior Manager – Marketing Planning & Strategic Analysis is responsible for providing departmental and cross functional leadership to deliver holistic marketplace and consumer insights that influence and drive achievement of corporate objectives.
Key activities include driving the Strategic & Operational Marketing Planning Processes, co-ordination of the Sales and Operational (SOP) process, understanding and synthesizing relevant commercial/consumer/macro-economic trends, developing data-centric viewpoints on cross-category dynamics, and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure holistic perspectives on a dynamic, ever-changing industry. This position requires both strong analytical capabilities as well as a high degree of thought leadership.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Support the delivery of the Annual Strategic and Operational Marketing planning processes
- Support the monthly Sales and Operational Planning Meeting and all feeder meetings including Demand Review and Cycle Plan Review
- Translate and synthesize commercial and consumer analyses into strategic implications that are quantifiable, actionable, and accessible to senior stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional business partners to identify and quantify forward-looking strategic plans.
- Communicate analysis, insights, implications, and recommendations (reports and presentations) in an informative, compelling manner to shape and influence business decisions.
- Champion innovation and change while advancing a data-driven, insight led, digital-first culture of continuous optimization and growth throughout the department and across the organization.
- Partner cross functionally, particularly with Snr Directors and Directors, to bring cohesive and connected plans across the portfolio of brands, platforms and channels, expressed through clear SLA’s & KPI’s.
- Promote strong teamwork and cross-functional/departmental collaboration.
- Initiate collaboration with global BAT colleagues to exchange and share knowledge, best practices and global opportunities for improvement.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE
ESSENTIAL
Experience Required
- Bachelors degree required and MBA preferred. Statistics, Economics, Finance or relative quantitative degree will be considered.
- 5+ years of experience in S&OP planning or business analysis.
Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required
- Demonstrated ability to understand broader business issues and seek resolution.
- Ability to synthesize multiple information/data sources including but not limited to commercial, consumer, and macro-economic trends.
- Skilled in summarizing extensive analysis into concise, actionable insights.
- Responsive, enthusiastic, and team-oriented.
- Excellent communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) and organizational skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills required.
