RJRT R&D – Senior Manager – Product Data Management

Position Description:

This position is responsible for leading a group in the Research and Development Product Data Management organization accountable for product specifications, bills of material and SAP master data including systems configuration, integrations, testing, documentation and support of system validation, and reporting of regulatory and business data for a subset of operating company product platforms.  This position leads the development of vision and strategy for the sub-group by leading the application of corporate strategy across business functions.  Leads cross-functional projects while guiding team members by delegating authority appropriately and utilizing resources effectively.  Responsible for creating an environment where direct reports look for root causes while providing significant individual contributions. This position effectively resolves issues. This person maintains strong credibility throughout the organization and demonstrates an ability to manage change cross functionally.  This position is responsible for developing and selling business cases. This person maintains high standards and integrity for product data and product introduction and change processes, while adhering to all applicable regulations and procedures. 

The role serves as the Agile champion for assigned product platforms coordinating work and priorities commensurate with business objectives and priorities.   Additionally, the role encompasses leadership of a cross product platform master expert of technical data for either packaging, product design or systems configuration and master data.

Accountabilities/Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sets strategy for the group that aligns with the R&D strategy and cohesively integrates across other functions to achieve goals.  Provides input to the strategy of the sub-function.
  • Manages and develops personnel to deliver against R&D objectives within their group and sub-function. 
  • Interacts with and builds relationships with outside departments and suppliers to drive and support innovation and transformation within the business and industry.  Initiates and leads change within sub-function and across R&D and the business.
  • Maintains broad knowledge of the business with proven ability to lead large projects within timelines. 
  • Provide leadership to assist others in solving complex problems. 
  • Provides direction to ensure key business needs are met; must take basic scientific and data concepts and apply them to computer systems, technologies, products or research.  Acts as a technical consultant across R&D and business projects.
  • Prepares and maintains annual budget and ensures programs are completed within the given budget.

Job Requirements:

Education:

4 year degree in scientific, engineering or business dicipline plus 7 years relevant experience in data management or 10 years of progressive relevant experience in data management

Required Skills to Perform Job:

  • Management of people and human resource processes
  • Management of agile request fulfillment processes
  • Project management
  • Master data management in SAP
  • Specifications and bill of material development and associated system configuration using Siemen’s Interspec
  • System development processes including system functionality, data integration and data quality
  • Development of regulatory and business reports
  • Adherence to business and regulatory processes and requirements
