Job Title: Director NGP Commercialization
JOB SUMMARY
As the Director of Next Generation Products Commercialization in the Marketing Intelligence & Insights function you will be joining a team of exceptional consumer marketers in a World Class Marketing Organization. As a marketing led organization we manage some of the largest and most iconic CPG brands. This is a fast paced and collaborative environment with a heavy emphasis on marketing excellence and talent development.
Your overarching responsibilities include:
- Understanding the consumer, the category, and the brands’ high-level pipeline strategies
- Leverage this knowledge to lead the implementation of the innovation pipeline
- Significant collaboration with cross departmental stakeholders.
- This role will be responsible for managing and leading products through critical internal process timelines and milestones, as well as own the execution of the process approvals.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for a dynamic, detail oriented, process driven and passionate individual to join our marketing team and be a part of an exciting opportunity to change the tobacco landscape and reimagine a new world of nicotine enjoyment for Adult Tobacco Consumers (ATC).
Backed with experience, dedication, and best-in-class industry resources, you will be responsible for the management and execution including (but not limited to) Stage and Gate, FDA Reportable Names, and scheduling approvals and communications through the SOP process.
The Director NGP Commercialization will:
- Lead New Category (Vapor, Modern Oral, THP) pipeline planning process including, but not limited to, cross functional meetings ,key project milestones, and PDT visibility across the organization
- Management and prioritization of the regulatory work streams related to new categories – Vapor, THP, and Modern Oral via SEs, MRTPAs, PMTAs or other viable workstreams
- Serve as the ongoing primary workflow management resource in consumer marketing for scientific and regulatory affairs (S&RA) and research and development (R&D) to meet agreed upon deliverables and timing
- Application of the “protect, compete, transform” framework to assist in prioritizing resources across the organization that support product development.
- Assurance that all potential regulatory responses recommended across the organization consider ATC implications
- Provide contingency planning to ensure simplified submissions (Full PMTA vs. Supplemental PMTA) with maximum business opportunity
- Lead New Category pipeline competitive intelligence including, but not limited to, IP Applications and approvals, PMTA / MRTPA / SE Filings, and global launches that may influence competitive approaches in the U.S.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Commercial and Global Teams, to meet project objectives and timelines
- New Category point person for the approval process, in support of innovation and pipelines goals
- Collect, track, and synthesize key project data and proactively identify risks to plans
- Communicate expectations to stakeholders across the organization to support decision making (SOP Process)
- Manage third party partners and stakeholders to integrate solutions as needed
- Ensure compliance with RJRT legal, corporate, industry guidelines and marketing standards.

- Passion for brand marketing and understanding consumer values and needs
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS AND BENEFITS
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Graduate Degree (MBA) and/ or 4+ years project management discipline in CPG category is a plus
Knowledge & Experience:
- Previous experience leading cross functional NPD/NPI project teams in consumer electronics, medical devices or FMCG required
- Ability to proactively identify project bottlenecks and provide solutions to mitigate
- Demonstration of ability to develop and deliver clear and concise communications to be used for reporting of key projects and timelines across key initiatives
- Good attention to detail is required together with the ability to plan and manage activity across a large number of workstreams
- Strong leadership characteristics are essential
- Proficient at using Microsoft Project or other project planning tools to plan and track projects
